Our pastry shop offers you a wide range of fresh pastry, cakes, homemade ice cream, fruit cups, hot and cold refreshments and much more.

The Zima family continues with pastry making tradition since 2007. Franci Šmon bought the bakery in Bled in 1966, after becoming an official pastry maker and after serving time in the military, and he started making pastry. Since he was able to make a good cake, he stopped thinking about becoming a priest or a doctor. He decided to become a pastry chef, therefore, his tradition still continues today.
Since 1880, the current Šmon pastry shop has been known as a bakery and pastry shop. The house was built by the Ravnik family, who worked there until 1941 and also made pastries for the royal family. They were followed by a German pastry chef, after the WWII, the bakery and pastry shop were nationalised and taken over by the Žito company from Ljubljana.

Šmon Slice
The basis of this pastry is the chocolate teacake, buttered with marmalade, vanilla cream and whipped sweet cream.

Cream Slice
This is the symbol of sweet culinary pastries from Bled, since it has been known for decades. Its taste is tantalized by the layer made from puff pastry, layer of delicious vanilla cream, topped with sweet cream and puff pastry and covered with powdered sugar.
Grmada with cream topping
“Grmada” with cream topping is made of layers of light and dark biscuit pastry, moistened with sugar syrup, covered with milled nuts, raisins and vanilla cream.
It is perfectly rounded up by whipped cream and chocolate topping.
Gibanica
“Gibanica“ is made of several layers of strudel dough, poppy, cottage cheese, nuts and apples, and covered with powdered sugar. It derives its name from the word “güba”, which means “fold” and refers to the characteristic layered composition that gives the gibanica its colourful look.
